Tommy Hilfiger and his fashion designer wife have sold their oceanfront home in Palm Beach for a recorded $35 million — $1 million more than they paid for it a little more than a year ago.
The deed for the off-market sale of the Mediterranean-style house was recorded by the Palm Beach County Clerk’s office.
The buyer was listed on the deed as Villa Bendita LLC, a Delaware-based limited liability company. Because of Delaware’s strict privacy laws, no other information about the buyer was immediately available in public records.
Standing on nearly an acre and facing about 203 feet of direct-ocean frontage, the six-bedroom, one-story house has 13,773 square feet of living space, six bathrooms and two half-baths.
Fashion designer Hilfiger and his wife, Dee Ocleppo, bought the house from the estate of the late English businessman Lord Anthony Jacobs, and his late wife, Lady Evelyn, who built it as a custom home in 1998.
“We love Palm Beach,” Tommy Hilfiger said in a brief email to the Daily Newslast year.
The sellers sold the house through an ownership company, Villa Deniz LLC, named after Ocleppo’s given name.
Oceanfront neighbors include television personality Dr. Mehmet Oz and his wife, Lisa; radio shock jock Howard Stern and his wife, Beth Ostrosky; rocker Jon Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea Hurley; takeover billionaire Nelson Peltz and his wife, Claudia; former Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and Keurig chief Robert Stiller and his wife, Christine; and Canadian businessman William Pencer. The house also is near a beachfront lot owned by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, who bought it from President Donald Trump more than eight years before the president was elected. That lot at 525 N. County Road is for sale at $42 million.

Broker Christian J. Angle of Christian Angle Real Estate confirmed that he was “part of the sale” but declined further comment. It was unclear whether any other agents or agencies were involved in the transaction.
Real estate broker Linda Gary of Linda A. Gary Real Estate handled the buyer’s side of the April 2017 transaction when the Hilfigers bought the house. In that deal, she acted opposite listing broker Lawrence Moens of Lawrence A. Moens Associates, who at the time had the house priced at just under $40 million. Gary and Moens couldn’t be reached today for comment.
The house was designed by Palm Beach architect Jeffery Smith of Smith Architectural Group with courtyards, cast-stone decorative details, painted-beamed ceilings, leaded-glass windows, Jerusalem limestone floors with Italian mosaic-tile accents. The main entry loggia has an elaborately vaulted ceiling.
The living room’s hipped ceiling rises 20 feet above floor level. Palladian-style windows face an oceanfront terrace on one side and a loggia and pool courtyard on the other. Other features included a library with imported linen-fold paneling and a formal dining room.
Today’s deed was signed by attorney and investment executive Joseph M. Lamastra, who manages Villa Deniz LLC and is a longtime business associate of Hilfiger. Lamastra also signed a $27.2 million, 30-year mortgage on the house around the time Hilfiger and his wife closed on their purchase last year, according to county records. But courthouse records don’t document the status of the repayment of the loan, which was made by JPMorgan Chase Bank.

Early last year, Hilfiger and his wife listed for sale their seaside home in northeast Miami-Dade County at $27.5 million. But it never found a buyer and apparently has been taken off the market, according to online real estate records. The 14,025-square-foot house north of Miami Beach is in the town of Golden Beach at 605 Ocean Blvd., between Hollywood Beach and Bal Harbor. The couple's ownership company paid $17.25 million for it in 2013, property records show.
The couple’s real estate portfolio also has included homes in New York City and Greenwich, Conn., as well as on Mustique in the Caribbean, the Wall Street Journal has reported.
In 2017, Hilfiger dropped the price of his 6,000-square-foot New York City penthouse at the Plaza Hotel to $50 million, down from its original 2013 price of $80 million, according to published reports.
In late October, Hilfiger told CNBC that he wanted to sell the penthouse because the couple's lifestyle had changed. “[My wife and I] are living on an airplane half the time now because we're traveling all over the world. But this [penthouse] has served us very well for over 10 years," Hilfiger told CNBC.
The Hilfigers reportedly are spending more time on their yacht, as well.
Hilfiger also owns the Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach.
Hilfiger founded Tommy Hilfiger Corp. in 1985 and built it into a fashion and lifestyle empire with a focus on casual, American style. He sold the company in 2006 and it changed hands again four years later, when it sold to Phillips-Van Heusen. Hilfiger is the company’s principal designer.
Ocleppo has designed handbags and other accessories for her eponymous label.
